What an absolute scorcher of a Wednesday at Side by Side Club!
The indoors was the original plan but a movie night on a lovely evening like this didn’t seem so tempting as the fresh air - so Kitty and Marion made the brilliant call to take the party outside. We swapped the movie screen for the green grass and had a fantastic time playing boccia in the garden sunshine. Just look at these videos and photos of the action – competitive, hot, and fun! a few worms even wriggled to the surface to watch! Who needs a cinema when you have a roaste

GrowAbility: Wednesday 8th April 2026
Thanks for the photos and little blog from our lovely Dig It Community Allotment leader Lisa Harper and to the generosity of Elsenham Lodge 8973 ( Essex Freemasons ) for supporting our project! We’ve been beaning and sowed different varieties of Dwarf beans, climbing beans and runner beans. Much needed watering everywhere on the plot. Topping up our paths with bark chippings. Finding shady spots to rest and listen to the birds. Harvesting herbs, for our wonderful Jacquie t

GWOF Friday Nights: Friday 10th April 2026
Swimming tonight for some of our members. Our group, for 16-25 year olds, is all about giving members a voice to make a choice on a Friday evening! Everyone loves to socialise on a Friday night! Tonight, Willow chose swimming and also chose who she would like to go with her. Great choice! So much fun, laughter and mischief! Side by Side Club: Wednesday 1st April 2026
Hop into spring! This week at the Side by Side Club, we traded our usual routine for some Easter craft magic. We are so lucky to have a team leader like Kitty—she’s a total natural when it comes to all things arty! She did a brilliant job pulling together a mountain of supplies and inspiration for the group. Just look at these happy faces and the amazing creations they made! There’s nothing quite like a bit of glitter and glue to bring everyone together. #SideBySideClub #Ea

From Seed Snails to Pea Shoots!
Yesterday (1/4/260 was a busy one for the GrowAbility Group. We experimented with the trending Seed Snail method to plant four types of Heritage Tomato seeds—huge thanks to Audley End House and Gardens kitchen garden for the donation of the saved seeds to Dig It Community Allotment ! This method saves compost and builds incredibly strong roots, so we’re expecting big things for the plot. Our gang really enjoyed doing this - how to round off our day? Our harvest and taste ses

Our Choice Adventures: Friday March 2026
Friday nights are go for the ‘Our Choice’ club! One of the best things about this club is that our members get to decide exactly how they want to kick off their weekend—and bowling in Bishop's Stortford is becoming a top pick! It’s easily one of the most popular nights on the calendar. We had some serious competition on the lanes this time! A massive shoutout to Barry, who managed to be a winner twice in a row! He was followed closely by Rich and Joel, who put up a great fig

GrowAbility: Wednesday 25th March 2026
Wednesday at Growability was a total whirlwind—literally! We had everything from biting wind and sleet to bursts of glorious sun and deep grey skies. But a bit of "four seasons in one day" didn’t stop us. When the clouds rolled in, we headed into the safety of the summerhouse to get busy. Together, we planted out our beetroot and radish seeds, tucked away from the rain and ready to grow! Whether we were ducking inside to stay dry or out on the plot soaking up the sun, one thi
