 What a day we had at Dig It Community Allotment today.

The heat didn’t stop our team from getting stuck in with watering, weeding, harvesting and even a bit of composting! A veritable rainbow of a harvest - cabbage, carrots and red onion to make a lovely fresh bowl of coleslaw. Gorgeous yellow tomatoes, grapes and freshly picked cucumber went into some healthy bread rolls with cheese or chicken. Our ‘harvest and taste’ healthy lunches have really taken off and it’s so lovely to have the satisfaction of sitting together enjoying the fruits (and vegetables!) of our labours.

Thanks to Essex Community Foundation for continuing to support our wonderful group. Hmmmmmm now what can we harvest and eat next week!
