Rain did not stop work (or play!) - Growability Blog
Supported by Essex Community Foundation
We’ve had a few wet weeks at the plot, but thanks to our wonderful summerhouse we are able to escape when the rain comes and keep going with our projects.
We’ve been deadheading flowers, picking the last of our tomatoes, and Mathew got on with harvesting and composting the chilli plants, sorting seeds, and taking the strawberry runners off the main plants and planting the babies into pots to replace old plants and make a new bed next year!
We’ve also been starting work on our scarecrow for the Audley End Railway Halloween event. She’s in the planning stage and it’s going very well!
Willow and Amanda have been preserving a selection of our gorgeous annual flowers by pressing them. We can’t wait to see them when they’re dried! They also did some painting with stencils - more flowers!
Lastly - T K E Landscaping arrived today to start the path works- we are so excited to see the progress! We’re hoping that it won’t be too long before wheelchairs can whizz all around the plot!
We hope you like our photos!
