GrowAbility: Wednesday 13th May 2026

The GrowAbility greenhouse is officially full! We spent the morning watering our “dream team”: tomatoes, chillies, cucumbers, cornichons, and our gorgeous dahlias and calla lilies. Even the potatoes and the rest of the plot got a good soak.

We welcomed Jackie - a new volunteer - to the plot, and we started(after a cuppa!) by having a walk around the plot - Lisa explained lots about our crops and the gang showed just how much they’d learned - identifying lots of fruit and vegetables and herbs! We tucked into some proper lovely jacket potatoes, served with a sneak peek of the veg we’ll be harvesting later this year. Clare got busy snip-snipping in the herb garden so we could top our spuds with fresh, home-grown chives—and the chive flowers were a delicious, peppery treat too!

We finished off the day by singing a massive Happy Birthday to our wonderful sessional leader, Lisa.  She brings a bit of sunshine to GrowAbility every single week, no matter the weather.  Happy Birthday!

Thank you to Elsenham Lodge 8973 for supporting our project!
