GrowAbility: Wednesday 18th March 2026

  •  Friendships that root deeper than our carrots.

  •  Mental health blooming in the fresh air.

  •  Nutrition that starts with dirt under our fingernails.

Nature as the ultimate healer. Wednesday saw our GrowAbility group together in the spring sunshine - members and volunteers working together at the Dig It Community Allotment. Sowing seeds, writing labels (VERY important!) weeding, planting, watering! Look those leek seedlings our group planted only a few weeks ago! New strawberry plants - see the teamwork in our story! planted into the raised planter, cosmos, zinnia nasturtiums and dahlia seeds all planted, labelled and watered. Everyone smiling and having fun.

Thank you so much to Elsenham Lodge 8973 for supporting this project which enriches the lives of our members!

Lastly (bit not leastly!) Lisa prepared a wonderful huge pan of spring vegetable soup and some garlic bread. What a fab cook you are Lisa Harper - one of our members thought they only liked tomato soup but today you gave them a new experience of a home made soup made from scratch and full of healthy vegetables! We are so lucky.
