GrowAbility: Wednesday 26th August 2026

Another busy and brilliant week at GrowAbility, with lots of members joining us and plenty of jobs to keep everyone busy!

We started by giving our Toby compost a little bit of extra love, adding chopped apples, brown compost and green leaves. It was great to see everyone getting stuck in and helping to keep the compost healthy and well balanced…ready to do its important job of feeding the soil.

We also collected some beautiful lavender flowers, which have been saved for a future project. It’s always exciting to gather natural materials from the plot and think about all the creative things we can make with them!

There was plenty of seed-saving happening too, as we carefully collected snapdragon seeds ready for future planting. Saving seeds now means we can look forward to growing even more lovely flowers in the seasons to come. As usual, Charis and Julie were so careful with the seeds. Week by week they’re becoming experts.

Our harvest was another highlight this week. We picked plenty of delicious tomatoes, garlic and courgettes. We put our fresh produce to very good use. We used our harvest to make a delicious bruschetta for lunch. Lisa’s amazing idea was a hit with all our lovely members.

It was another really productive and enjoyable session. From caring for our compost and collecting lavender to saving seeds and enjoying a delicious harvest. As always, we’re looking forward to seeing what next week brings!
