GrowAbility: Wednesday 2nd September 2026
Another busy and brilliant week at GrowAbility! We had lots of members joining us and plenty to keep everyone busy.
After all the recent rain, we got stuck into some overdue weeding. The wet weather had certainly encouraged everything to grow, so it was great to get the beds tidied up and looking much neater. It was lovely to see the healthy soil underneath too, ready to support all the plants growing around the plot.
We also enjoyed a fantastic harvest this week. We picked plenty of delicious tomatoes, carrots, grapes and courgettes. We put our fresh produce to very good use. We enjoyed our harvest alongside some tasty cheese and crackers, making for a lovely healthy lunch.
Freddie was happy to discover all of these healthy fruit and vegetables, especially the tomatoes and grapes. It was great to see everyone enjoying the fresh produce at the allotment.
There was planting happening too, as Joel carefully got busy with some strawberry plants. We’re looking forward to watching them settle in and enjoying some lovely strawberries in the future.
It was another productive and enjoyable session. There was lots of fresh air and time spent caring for our growing space. From weeding after the rain to harvesting our vegetables and enjoying the fruits of our work. There was plenty to be proud of again!
