Another incredibly busy and brilliant week at GrowAbility! The plot was full of activity today, with lots of lovely visitors joining us and plenty going on throughout the session.

It was a real team effort when it came to our composting this week. We carefully added layers of greens, browns and chicken manure to our existing Toby compost, making sure everything was well balanced and ready to decompose. Every member played their own part in this.

Tristan was our very own weeding fairy for most of the morning! He worked hard to clear away the weeds and did a brilliant job of making the plot look neat, tidy and well cared for. It was lovely to see the difference his hard work made.

Lisa was busy in the kitchen once again, creating another delicious harvested treat for everyone to enjoy. This week, we tucked into a lovely healthy leek, onion and potato soup. Made with produce from our growing space. It was the perfect, healthy way to enjoy some of what we have grown together.

There was also plenty of excitement when it came time to share our produce. Every member took a goodie bag home, packed full of the lovely fruit and vegetables they have all helped to grow. It’s brilliant to see everyone heading home with a little taste of the allotment to enjoy.

With so many visitors, lots of teamwork and plenty of jobs to keep us busy, it was a lively session on the plot. From building up our compost to keeping the beds looking their best and enjoying another delicious harvest. There was lots to be proud of.

Bring on next week!
