What a brilliant, busy day at our GrowAbility session!

We started with a lovely cuppa and a chat with Lisa before the gang got stuck right into the work. With all the recent sunshine, the weeds were trying to take over and everything was thirsty—but our amazing team watered the whole plot, weeded, and did some fantastic harvesting! Teamwork definitely makes the dream work, and the plot looks absolutely beautiful.
Here is what we got up to:
The Harvest: We gathered broad beans, lots of lovely fresh lettuce, and radishes (with Julie doing a stellar job cleaning them all up!).
Veggie Education: Lisa taught us all about onion scapes, which Claire and Esther helped to harvest.
A Wild Discovery: We found a strange, tall plant (about 60cm) that looked like a single chive with an onion flower. Turns out it's "Crow Garlic"! It grows wild on allotments around here, and because we don't like to waste anything and it’s edible, we dug one up to investigate!
We even heard thunder and lightning off in the distance, but thankfully it missed us completely—though the plot could definitely use the rain!
Everyone got to take some lovely fresh goodies home, and we all left with big smiles. Love our GrowAbility team!
