We gathered with our local police, soldiers, and school children, the Mayor, Town Crier and even our very own Cath wearing her music man hoodie and rattling a tambourine! for a special photoshoot, all part of our bid to become the first-ever Town of Culture! Big thanks to the Saffron Walden Town Council for inviting us.
Then, off to the Jubilee Hub, where Richard from UCAN Charity gave us the warmest welcome! He introduced us to their fantastic Community Fridge (a brilliant resource for fresh fruit, veg, and bread!) and even treated us to tea and biscuits, despite the Hub being closed. YOU are a legend Richard!
We went back to our base today at the Saffron Building Society Community Link to plant flower seeds in compostable home made ‘pots’ Lisa brought from home.
To top it all off, we gathered for a lovely group lunch! We had a blast making our own wraps with heaps of fresh fillings. As we ate, we talked about all the lovely ingredients and how we can’t wait to be growing our own lettuce and tomatoes and so many other things to harvest again soon!
A huge thank you to Katie, who very kindly brought along the most beautiful fruit platters—and we really enjoyed such a wonderful variety of fruit. thank you Ewelina, Lisa, Marion and Katie too for making today happen - we loved it!
Feeling so grateful for these connections and the amazing people in our town!
